Roxie

June 3,2017:

Today is a good day! Roxie (on the left) has been adopted as of today, 03 June.
Roxie was HW positive at ACAS. Raising Aid for Dogs At Risk - RADAR Dogs helped fund her heartworm treatment and Shelter Animals Advocates The Heartbeat Goes On rescued her and treated her for heartworms. This sweet girl waited for 10 long months for her new home. Unfortunately for her, there aren't a lot of adopters l ooking for a high energy, black Pitbull mix. All that changed when her new dad called asking for a high energy dog to go on adventures with! Roxie went into foster to adopt for a week and now has her forever home! She has a new fur sister, Sona (a SAA alum, on the right) and they'll be going on lots of adventures with their dad for years to come! Yay! Let the heart beat on!

Rex

4-6-17: Rex was HW+ on death row completed his treatment and has found his forever home

Rex

2-18-17: HeartBeat alum Rex was adopted back in November but had to wait til his family got their new home... today he joined his fur sister Elle (also a HeartBeat alum) and his mom and dad! Oh happy day!!!

Rex

12-11-16: Rex sure did catch a lucky break!
This sweet boy was just returned to the rescue a few days ago for his own safety. It turns out that Rex has such severe separation anxiety that he quite literally cannot be left completely alone, he has to have a person or a dog home with him at all times. His prior adopter couldn't get a second dog, so she had no choice but to return him so he wouldn't hurt himself.
His new adopter saw a post on the SAA President's FB page and quickly suggested that she and her husband come meet him! This is the perfect home for him! His new sister Elle (a SAA alum) has similar anxiety issues, so his new parents are very prepared to deal with his issues. Very good news for this sweet boy! Yay! Let the Heartbeat go on!
