12-11-16: Rex sure did catch a lucky break!
This sweet boy was just returned to the rescue a few days ago for his own safety. It turns out that Rex has such severe separation anxiety that he quite literally cannot be left completely alone, he has to have a person or a dog home with him at all times. His prior adopter couldn't get a second dog, so she had no choice but to return him so he wouldn't hurt himself.
His new adopter saw a post on the SAA President's FB page and quickly suggested that she and her husband come meet him! This is the perfect home for him! His new sister Elle (a SAA alum) has similar anxiety issues, so his new parents are very prepared to deal with his issues. Very good news for this sweet boy! Yay! Let the Heartbeat go on!
Great news for Mr Gouda!
Today, 17 Dec, Mr Gouda was adopted by his new family! He now has three new human siblings and one new fur sibling (Ms Tiny)!
Gouda was heartworm, hookworm AND whipworm positive at ACAS when Shelter Animals Advocates The Heartbeat Goes On rescued him and treated him! He is now negative for all three and a loving and super friendly dog that could not be happier than he is with this large awesome new family! Yay! Let the heartbeat go on!
11-23-16: Zhu Li was HW+ on death row. She was the 600th HW+ dog saved by HeartBeat from ACAS. Her adopters saw the newspaper story on her and applied to adopt her, funded part of her treatment and waited while she was fostered through treatment. The day before Thanksgiiving, Zhu Li moved in to her forever home.
November 2, 2016: Ian was HW+ on death row, histreatment was sponsored by a wonderful donor in MA, who also helped find him his forever home (her neighbor). Here is Ian with his new mom... The Heart Beat Goes On
10-27-16: This is another very special adoption for us. Titan was heartworm positive at Aiken County Animal Shelter. On 27 OCTOBER 2015, Shelter Animals Advocates The Hea rtbeat Goes On pulled him and treated him. Titan went to a home almost immediately, but was returned shortly after when his owner had a sudden and unexpected life change. Poor Titan went into a bit of a depression and then stayed with the rescue for the rest of 2016... The right family just never came along. That is until he met his new mom, EXACTLY ONE YEAR after we pulled him! Titan's adoption was finalized 27 OCTOBER 2016! His new mom asked if we could hold him for just a few more days so she could get the house ready for him, and today 01 November 2016, Titan is FINALLY home! Let the heart beat on!
